Welcome To The 20th Annual Lamu Cultural Festival

Take Part In The Lamu Cultural Festival 2022 Lamu County Governor H.E Issa Abdalla Timamy wishes to invite you to the 20th Annual Lamu Cultural Festival 2022. This event takes place from the 24th-26th of November 2022. There will be lots of activities such as:

• Dhow races
• Donkey races
• Heena Painting
• Swahili music performance
• Traditional drums/poetry
• Traditional dances and many more

The mother of all festivals, the annual Lamu Cultural Festival takes place from 24th-26th of November 2022 for the 20th time since its inception. The festival has been a tourist favourite for years pulling in both local and foreign tourists to the Lamu archipelago in equal measure. The festival is a celebration of the best that Lamu has to offer. From its rich Swahili history and romantic present-day life that has kept true to the traditions and beliefs of this community. The programme for the 2022 festival promises to be exciting. Among several other engaging activities, there will be an exhibition, traditional dances, poetry performances, acrobatic performances and the town’s most endearing symbol the Lamu Donkey & Dhow Races.
