The Week Of Italian Cuisine In The World Set To Be Held In Nairobi And Watamu This November

The week of the Italian Cuisine in the World is running its 7th edition in 2022 with several events and activities promising to capture the attention of the best Italian culinary experiences across key cities globally. The theme of this year is “Conviviality, sustainability, and innovation: the ingredients of Italian cuisine for people’s health and the protection of the planet .” In Kenya, it will focus on key elements towards sustainable food practices along with the health benefits of Italian cuisine, the role of innovation in food security and nutrition, and conviviality through culinary experiences as an opportunity to promote engagement and partnership.

The Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute are hosting the weeklong event. This serves to endorse Chef’s Delight Awards and Go Places as partners of the Week of the Italian Cuisine. Chef’s Delight is Kenya’s one-of-a-kind annual Culinary Awards Programme, which aims at improving the Quality of Service and Quality of Dining Experience by showcasing Kenya as a multinational culinary destination.

  This year’s event programme will include a visiting Chef, Giuseppe Geraci a renowned Chef who will be running several workshops and master classes:

  • Pizza Masterclass for Kids
  • Conference at University of Nairobi

  • Tiramisu – Contest
  • The Spirit of Italian Cuisine
