New Menu Launch at Intercontinental Terrace Restaurant Sharing Moments

The Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi recently launched a new À la carte Menu, at the Terrace Restaurant. If you are looking for great meals served in an opulent setting, the Terrace Restaurant which is adjacent to the outdoor pool should be your everyday stop. Here’s our review of new À la carte Menu and why you should try it!

Starter

The starter for this menu launch was Soup in which we had a choice Seafood and veggie soup. This was a great start as it set up the rest of the meal quite perfectly. What stood out for the seafood soup was the fact that there was no strong seafood smell although you could still taste the fish oil.

The Duo

We were then presented with the five spiced sesame Duck & smoked chicken and mango salad together & Essence of Chicken with coriander. The Smoked Chicken and Mango Salad was served with arugula and watercress while the five spiced sesame Duck with hoising glazed dressing, orange, mixed baby spinach, rocket and cherry tomato salad.

The Garlic Bread

Garlic bread which was garlic and butter toasted French Bread, served with a spicy Harissa blend, and an onion and raisin chutney followed closely after the above delicacy. What stood out was the onion and raisin chutney: it was simply out of this world!

The Real Deal

The Morendat Beef Fillet Medallion and Morendat Sirloin Steak plus the Chicken Peri Peri was what took this menu to a whole new level. The Chicken was quite spicy, and the fact that you could taste the chilli to the bone was simply ecstatic. We learned that the Chicken Peri Peri is marinated in lemon, rosemary and garlic and their house-made peri peri sauce. If you love hot peri peri chicken, this is a must try for you.

The beef was quite delicious, the Morendat Beef Fillet Medallion is something any meat lover would fall in love with. It came with some fantastic sauces including balsamic shallots, cherry tomatoes and grilled mushrooms that worked as a perfect accompaniment.

Pizza

What stood out for the Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza was how the crust was just soft and so easy to chew. It was like eating chicken with Naan bread which is what gave the chef the idea of this pizza.

Dessert

We had tangy lemon cheesecake with candied ginger, berry coulis and orange segments, sesame and Amarula tart and Nanaimo bar which tasted like bounty chocolate and sorbet. It was delicious. A great way to end the meal.
