Long-Haul Evacuation Taken To Whole New Level
AMREF Flying Doctors, the leading-award winning air ambulance service provider in East Africa launched Cessna Citation XLS jet. “This is a great progress that brings to an end to the years of depending on a third-party aircraft provider for the long-haul evacuation and repatriation flights,” says Dr Bettina Vadera, Chief Executive & Medical Director, AMREF Flying Doctors.
Late Last year 2018, AMREF Flying Doctors launched the first of our two fully-owned, dedicated jet air ambulance, Cessna Citation XLS (christened, Sir Archie) and the new Operations and Emergency Control Centre.
AMREF Flying Doctors is a company limited wholly owned by AMREF Health Africa, which is the leading international health development non-governmental organization based in Africa, headquartered in Nairobi.
The acquisition of the two jets is one of the biggest milestones in AMREF Flying Doctors since transformation from a programme within the AMREF Health Africa, to a company limited by guarantee.
